6 Affirmations People Need To Hear Often
People are affirmative beings. There is no age maximum or minimum. At some point in our young lives, we were affirmed in some way. Many positive. Many negative. Many with nothing at all, silent affirmation. As an adult, you have become conditioned to your environment of affirmations either in its absence or its presence and this needs to be reprogrammed into your life.

I Started An Outdoor Market
In a time when people are looking to sell their passions, we have really become disconnected. Everyone wants to sell without talking to the customer and exchanging the vibration of trust. Sure you can shop online. but why not connect to your potential buyers with conversation and relatability?

Recurring Lifetimes
Flora stood over her daughter Keilia’s casket and sighed. The onlookers were starting to disperse to their cars. For this funeral, she wore a yellow flowy dress. Her chin hit the lacing on the top of the dress. She looked down at the dirt slowly falling around the casket. No one knew her daughter's remains had been cremated. She only did the showy “funeral thing” because her daughter had been involved in the community. She had always been involved in the community.

Where Did You Get That Idea?
I have a confession to make. I used to be ashamed of staying in the bed, taking naps, or even sitting on my bed if I wasn't going to sleep. Growing up, none of these things were allowed. My siblings and I were always told that lying in bed all day made us lazy and we were yelled at if we even attempted to breathe on the bed before our 8:30 pm bedtime. By that time I wasn't sleepy anymore.

Why Sex Talk Isn't So Sexy
I recently started a limited HonestChats series with a group of people that shared how they came into the knowledge of sex. I asked a simple question that had complex emotions and similar answers. The answers were all the same. All seven of the participants said the same thing when asked: Who taught you about sex”?

Older
The invisibility cloak of time isn't a real thing. I thought it was when I was younger, but now the fight to stay in alignment with that thought has taken its toll. You see, when I was younger I saw extraordinary things. Some things you would not believe unless you were there. One encounter I tell people about is when I met the people that live in the core of the Earth. They choose to stay hidden because they enjoy living in peace. The Earth's surface is volatile and they just do not roll like that. I stumbled upon their doorway when I was exploring a cave in South Africa. I slipped and fell down a deep dark opening. I passed out before I hit the bottom because I just knew it was my time to go, but what found me was incredible.

SOG
“Go to bed Sheena!” Nicole yelled from the bathroom. Nicole hated sharing a room with her little sister, who was 6 years younger than her. Sheena always wanted to play when Nicole wanted to sleep. Nicole could never understand why Sheena did not have her own room. Never mind her own room, just her own bed. The sisters shared a Queen-sized bed.

Impossible Dream
I have loved for many years what I saw as an impossible dream. I loved helping people, so I thought I should work in the medical field. I spent 15 years helping people on various levels in the health system. That career offered benefits, bonuses, growth, knowledge, and validation for my degree in Health Administration. I met great people along the way. I saw tragedies in the young and old communities. I asked myself many days if this is the way I wanted to serve. Getting and extra blanket because a patient was cold. Serving families lunch and dinner while they wait for their loved ones to come out of a 6 or 12-hour surgeries. Helping a patient understand their insurance policy so that they can choose the best treatment plan. Informing a patient that they can be put on a payment plan to pay for their heart procedure. Explaining why the patient was approved or denied for complex treatments for their child. This was all fulfilling a service in its timeframe, but I still loved my impossible dream.
