It's the most promising time of the year!!!! Come on, everyone sing it (In the Tune of It's The Most Wonderful Time of The Year) with me. There be broken resolution and heart-stopping promises to yourself! It's the most promising time of the YEAR!!

That song gives you all the feels of joy and expectations of love and giving everywhere. Just like the New Year gives you hope. A hope that this year will be the year for whatever you want to achieve to be achieved. What is it that you want to achieve?

Let's have a conversation about achieving goals. We are going a little deeper with this, so hold on for the awakening of your mindset. How do we do this? By prioritizing a healthy mindset. How do we do that? We will spend more time doing what we love alone or with people that inspire and support us. When do we have time for that? By making the conscious decision that our rest and relaxation is a priority to ourselves first. When you set that example within yourself. Then everything on the outside will follow.

This is the year we break the cycle of outside New Year Resolution and focus on connecting with our inner thoughts, desires, and ambitions. Our minds are where everything must flow from and when we do not have a healthy mindset about something we want to achieve. Then we will most likely dissolve before or during the journey and never reach the resolution gang party. And it’s a big one. Many attend few last after the drinks (The distractions). Establishing goals to practice connecting with ourselves daily will not only keep you on track. It will also establish a stronger connection to what you require to function at your best.

After looking at a few New Year's resolutions sites, self-care is not at the top of the list. Weightless and finances are in the top 4. Yep, they are listed 1-4 rephrased differently. The fact is, that if self-care were the priority, then everything else would follow the leader. Think of your mindset as the CEO of your body. You have different departments within this body. The CEO has an overall picture of the goals for specific parts of the body but in order to properly communicate to these areas. The CEO must participate in personal development training, workshops, retreats, sleep, meditation, more sleep, etc. Our minds receive and process information 24 hours a day. It never gets tiring, but we get tired physically. We need a break from thinking as thinking continues. How do we do this? By positioning the CEO to recognize where and what we need to focus on.

Being selfish has developed a bad meaning and many shy away from associating themselves with the word. The question is, if you made a New Year's Resolution to be selfish. How would this benefit you? The way selfishness has been understood is the way it relates to others, not the person. So, leave others out of the conversation and selfish benefits all the things your mind will need to meet your goals in the coming year.

THE PLAN

First things first, forget what you think selfish is and begin to feel selfish. That's right! Most people don't trust their feelings, and this sometimes steers their lives into something they don't recognize. If you feel your way into a self-care routine. Then you will know what it feels like when your routine is off or that you may need to make some adjustments to the routine. If you follow what someone else is doing, then it is really not a selfish thing. Is it?

When you write your resolution, make sure you are in a place of awareness. You want to be aware of where you, you and only you, want to see a difference in your life. We have many distractions that tell us how to think, eat, and sleep. It is time that you communicate and consult with yourself to figure out how you can rejuvenate and then create your wonderful results. The plan is to stick to whatever you decide but have a little patience. If you are not used to " feeling yourself" then just take it one day at a time. Do something for you that only you will love! You never know. That thing may become a regular event and produce some well-deserved results.

Don't make promises to yourself that will be hard to keep. Making time to give your mind some rest and relaxation is a practice that many overlook. It is vital to your everyday performance on a minimal level in excellence. Imagine what your balanced and aligned max will be! When you spend time on yourself learning how much sleep you need or if a particular diet suits you better. You will know for sure what your mind and body need to reset. Then do those things regularly.

You will never be able to stop your mind from processing information, but you can program your mind to produce habits that will then change the information it is processing. When tunning into yourself and tunning out of all the things going on in the outside world that depletes your energy. You will begin to change from the inside out. You will hear the things that benefit you. You deserve it. You are worth it. Go on and make that Selfish New Year's Resolution!
