body’s cold soul’s on fire bones are tired but warm so warm that even though i should let my weary limbs sag my legs propel me
The wings Perched on your finger Flutter, The life you hold Quivers with beauty Too free to be contained Too joyful to be bottled
the honey dripping from your lips has never tasted so sweet. it fills my belly with warmth and turns my heart mellow
i mistakened cowardice for bravery when I locked the door and tossed the keys. when I turned my heart to ice so the veins in my blood freeze
when I traded disco lights for scented candles when my nights once spent spitting whiskey in your mouth turned into nights of cramming and more doses of caffeine
they said to build in silence so I built a brick wall around my soul. took a hammer nails between my teeth and fastended my chest closed.
to see the world through a plastic cover to watch people as though they are far away when you can touch them to see mouths turned up
