I will not smash your car up

although the thought did once occur

I will not post the truth

on socials and then block you.

I will not give you fuel for "she's crazy, her".

.

I will take a writer's revenge;

I will make you into poetry.

I will cut you up and twist you

and make you into only words;

this is what you have done to me.

.

I will write about a nameless you

and all his filthy little lies.

I will put down all the hurt;

all my wounds and bruises

inflicted by your lying eyes.

    Oh, yes. Long before social media, wounded women would take crowbars to men's beloved vehicles. What a shame those days are gone!

    Haven't we all been there? YES! Your poem is wonderfully cathartic, and it makes me hope the protagonist moves on and doesn't dwell on the bad ones. Lots of frogs before the prince!!!

  • Excellent Top Story! Cathartic… with good writing coming out of the bad experience.

    Well, its ok. I enjoyed it. When I saw the car smashing from the beginning I was expecting a different turn than the one I had. GOod any way.

  • Back to say congratulations on your Top Story! 🎉💖🎊🎉💖🎊

    Your poetry resonates with raw honesty and a profound sense of self-expression. Through your words, you reclaim your narrative and refuse to be defined by the hurt inflicted upon you. It's evident that you've found solace and catharsis in the act of writing, transforming your pain into something beautiful and empowering. Your resilience shines through as you choose to rise above the darkness, turning adversity into art and finding strength in vulnerability. Keep writing, keep healing, and keep sharing your truth with the world.

    This poem is a poignant exploration of healing through creativity and self-expression. It's a reminder that even in the face of betrayal and heartache, there is strength in turning pain into poetry.
