YOU'RE IMAGINING THINGS
· I was sitting in the lobby of the Police station, biting my nails and checking my phone constantly for word from Roy, hoping he had decided to call into work and take Jimmy for a Daddy-son day. But I couldn’t imagine him doing so without leaving a note or waking me first, and the shredded Toy Story pajamas I held in my lap told another story; a much more horrifying one.

It's a Dirty Job
Dressed in my green Honey Pot Camp shirt, I wrestled the cleaning tub into the back of the camp van, then dragged the vacuum cleaner, mop, and broom in last. It was about 90 degrees in the shade, and here I was, a newly divorced mother of two, loading the equipment to clean the lakeside camps owned by Mr. and Mrs. Godfrey.

BARE HUNTER
*** TED “Doug? Thank God. What made you come here looking for Timmy?” “I didn’t buy your bad dream story. Something was up. I figured someone took him to blackmail you. I was right. THE GENERAL Never leave an enemy until you’re sure he’s dead, Donnie, you fool. My brother-in -law’s kid had always been a fuck-up. BARE HUNTER
Donnie visits Sharon. The house was dark with only one vehicle in the driveway. Teddy was busy in the woods with Fred, so I figured she must be alone. The adrenaline rush from chasing Ted through the woods had crashed leaving me exhausted. Plus, the hole fuckin Fred had put in my arm wasn’t helping. I popped another beer and dug through the console for some of that Thorazine I’d been spiking Ted’s drinks with. The gunshot wound was burning like hell, making my mind fuzzy. Couldn’t have that, so I swallowed a tablet washing it down with the rest of my beer. Then, leaned back in the driver’s seat to rest my eyes.

SANDY Okay, Tim-Tim, you’ve had a big day, I’ll make you a bubble bath, you bring your dinosaurs. Then, it’s off to bed, kiddo,” I suggested. While I helped Timmy in the bath, Doug made himself useful by repairing the leaky drain in the kitchen sink, using some old caulk he found in a closet. He couldn’t stand to sit around twiddling his thumbs and he liked repairing things. Worked for me.
