Airborne

It continues to spread

Airways tighten with a rope-like a noose.

Investigative autopsy

Reports find nothing is wrong with the

Brain.

Ominous thoughts curl

Round the

Next victim.

Envy is the most infectious disease.

Author’s Note:

This poem was inspired by Poppy’s Prompts #6.

Thanks for reading,

PS. I would like to apologize in advance to my Vocal people as I am currently working on some larger projects and might not be as present on here as I usually am. Both with posting stories and making comments.

I'm editing Into the Fox's Den which is Book two of my Out Foxed Duology, after Fox in The Hole. And I'm also working on a short series inspired by a photo I took and entered into Mackenzie's Send Me Another Photo Challenge, called Bars.

So I apologize for the break in content for a short time, but I assure you that good things are coming to those that wait!! 💚

Envy will get you every time. Ominous thoughts curl is such a great line. I’ve stepped back as well to concentrate on larger projects.

Love this poem, Donna! Envy, the green-eyed monster, is such a dratted infectious issue. It consumes the mind with the imagined prospect of keeping up. Loved this acrostic! and all the best of luck on your newest projects! I make no promises about not releasing things you want in the meantime, but we can call it a carrot to incentivize your other progress! All the love and best wishes from your perpetually tired friend in Ontario!

Yay, another Donna acrostic!! This was so powerful, especially that awesome last line!

  • Whoaaaa, ominous thoughts curl, I loved that line the most! It made me so happy to see that it was an Acrostic because it's your signature style for Poppy's Prompts! I love how you named your series Out Foxed and whoaaaa, I had no idea about Bars! I wish you all the best for that and Into the Fox's Den! I'll always be here waiting for youuuuu 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

This is great. I imagine those ominous thoughts curling and slithering like a snake.

  • Great and inventive acrostic take on the prompt
