The empty man
nothing
I am an empty man
lost in an empty land
living an empty life
on the empty edge
of an empty city
filled with empty people
waking up from empty dreams
to lead empty lives
inside empty buildings
with empty windows
above empty sidewalks
running along empty streets
driving empty cars
down empty roads
through empty towns
underneath an empty sun
shinning in an empty sky
with an empty dust cloud
trailing an empty journey
across an empty horizon
to an empty destination
along an empty beach
beside an empty ocean
with an empty tide
coming in empty waves
where an empty soul
can heal an empty hole
under an empty light
of an empty moon

I feel similarly these days...so much emptiness, everywhere. Very poignant piece.
Wow... I'm kind of speechless after this... It's sad and moving and hypnotic with the repetitive language! I relate so hard and on so many levels, beautifully done Will!
This made me feel incredibly sad… but it was also beautifully written and completely relatable. Great stuff.
Some days are definitely this way. Ending brings replenishment ❤️
So many feel like
Excellent, Will! As Jazzy mentioned, this flowed so well that the redundancy of empty soot oud, but didn't interrupt.
The empty every line didn’t feel over done it felt right and def made me almost feel empty, great poem!
So we are but two of an empty multitude. I just ate breakfast, but for some reason I'm still hungry after reading this.
This is great. Sad, but really well done.
Been down that road, don’t want to go on that road trip again, but it was a learning experience. Glad your life have change since then 🙂👍
Ah, this is very sad, but written so wonderfully. I love the repeated use of empty in every line! It helps punctuate that sense of despair and loneliness! Well done!
