Summer

Life

By Cindy CalderPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Do you smell the sweetness of the honeysuckle?

Do you hear the whistle of the wind and feel the swaying of the trees,

The rustle of foliage as a squirrel or other friend runs through it,

The crispness of the grass beneath your feet,

The feathery feel of the leaves betwixt your finger,

the birds chirping sweetly as they sing their songs?

There are such vivid signs of summer – of a balance in nature that knows no end.

If I could only attune myself to the same balance

And feel the harmony that’s so apparent in all I see, feel, and hear

Oh, how sweet life then would be

And there would be no sense in ill spent tears.

We were meant to be one with nature and the universe.

How very sad we so seldom listen and pay attention as we should

When there is much yet to be gained in the summer of our lives.
