Silence Stirs

Soaring

By Cindy CalderPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

I sit in silence, swallowing the words that leap to mind

Ever striving to scale the distance for release

Perhaps to provide a consolation of mind and spirit

And allow some measure of well-earned peace.

How much I want to say….how much I long to do so

But although the mind and spirit are of a will

The ever-crowding persistence is to be silent

And steep in a knowledge that remains ever still.

My eyes are watchful and my step is cautious

My spirit so heavy with thoughts and fear

My time grows increasingly short while

My heart is silently shy but longs for you to be near.

Today is not the day to burst forth in song

Even though it is a day spent with emotion

Perhaps the time will draw near of no upheaval

And the night will be filled with a newness of devotion.

How I long to see the stars and the moon in the sky

And feel the strength of a love that knows no bounds

To spend an ever fulfilled eternity with you

Until I feel my soul soars high above the ground.
