Ruskie The Raccoon

Marching Into Madness

By Marc OBrienPublished 2 years ago 1 min read
Lithuanian/American Author Marc O'Brien

Ruskie the raccoon

Whistling a patriotic tune

Was not amused

Wondering if Ruskie was being used

Being sent into battle

Like a cow in a herd of cattle

Just a piece of meat

Performing a theatrical feat

Wearing a mask

During this murderous task

Going on what is called a special op

Ruskie’s power play could not be stopped

Not even by an international cop

Throat now felt parched

As Ruskie marched

In the woods

Thinking what he was doing was incredibly good

Water was found

From a canteen filled in the last town

Ruskie came upon a child

Acting calm in the forestry wild

Honestly, the youngster said

“I want one day to wed

Cannot do that if I am dead”

Listening Ruskie did hear

Encouraging Ruskie to shed a tear

Knowing his life was filled with cheer

Putting down the weapon

Ever so upset tin

Reaching out his ‘forgive me hand’

As was the plan

The youth retaliated with a jam

A knife into Ruskie’s ribs

From the utensil hidden in the children’s cribs

There Ruskie died

All due to someone somewhere lied

Next time you see the police chalk

Remember death does not come from peaceful talk

And reflect upon what happen to Ruskie the Racoon

Whistling a war tune

Insured he would be home soon
