Rain

Can you hear that?

The sounds of the most beautiful tap.

That wondrous tap is the sound of the rain.

Whenever I hear it, it seems to take away all my pain.

Each streak on the window is like a memory.

Like the time you lost your best friend that one fateful February.

The negative ones always seem to cause an internal tremor.

All the pain comes back, and you start to remember.

What about those moments of joy?

How about that time you received that dream toy?

I really try to focus on those.

If it was up to me, those are the ones that I would have chosen.

They just always feel so far away.

Now I am just afraid...

When will this cycle end?

I do not know how long I can last on this trend.

That is why I always look forward to the rain.

It always seems to take away the pain.

Drip by drip.

My mind goes on a trip.

One, two, three.

Watch all those birds huddle for warmth in that tree.

They love each other.

Those birds need one another.

Like a kid needs their mother.

They should always be their number one lover.

We all need that love.

I always will be so grateful for the one ABOVE.

He gives me strength in my time of need.

When I get down on my knees, my soul begins to feel so free.

Just try to relax and pray.

Our bodies and minds will always have something to say.

Life can sometimes feel like a puddle.

Full of nothing but emotions, some good, but some not so subtle.

I wish that we could all just focus on the good.

However, that is not how life works, even if we think that is how it should.

I always used to be afraid of fear.

Found myself running from it for well over a year.

It always caught up with me.

There was something so obvious that was so hard for me to see.

Then it hit me.

As I had my back pressed up against an old oak tree.

Fear is not a negative.

Sometimes it is life's greatest sedative.

If we did not have fear in our lives we would become complacent.

Life would always find some way to replace it.

Fear keeps us moving forward.

We all have a dream or a goal that we are always working toward.

It is there for us to not get too comfortable.

Having that epiphany felt just so wonderful.

I know you may be questioning that view.

Just please take a moment and let it sink into your mind for a few.

Because just like the rain, it can never stay still.

It will just continue to flow and fill.

Rain can be so peaceful, and at times it is not.

Same goes for life. We all have had moments in which we have fought.

But we all can be peaceful and come together in all our times.

The good, the bad, the sad, the mad. Being kind to each other will never be a crime.

I just hope you can find the time to listen to the rain.

It may just help you find peace, even when there is pain.
