Its not all men,

I truly belive that,

But when do we not have to pretend,

that the man that has his eyes glued on us at a bar,

that inches his way over, nomatter where we are,

makes us feel safe,

How his eyes on us can be deemed as a compliment,

if the gender roles were reversed but sitting in same place,

Its not all men,

But why when two of them come up and offer to buy a drink,

we are flighting with our given instincts,

Because we cant trust what they think,

they are going to get out of it,

It always feels like a pressured invitation,

as they size you up with no intent for conversation,

Thanks, but I think I am better off without your donation!

It not all men,

But why before we even think about going out,

We hope to find or have a friend,

not for the obvious reasons,

but for protecton,

commonly aware of the buddy system,

Its not all men,

But why do I fear for the girl who is out of her mind on something,

She is falling over from her thin composure after one to many,

Just knowing some guy will take advatage by acting as if they are friendly,

That they are just trying to help,

Is a scar to many woman have felt,

People say, maybe she shouldnt have put herself in that position,

But why should someone see a person like that and be tempted,

Its not all men,

But how do you translate being polite,

as a given invite,

to you undressing us in your mind,

Instead of taking the time,

to know more than our name,

So no it is not all men,

but a societal system,

where we have deemed this normal,

They are guys,

just balme it on the hormones,

Blame it on being locker room talk,

blame it on the guys wil be guys plot,

But next time you want us to say,

not all men,

Lets not pretend,

every woman's,

reasons, given.
