Anagram Poem and Unofficial Challenge
Listen!
Be silent!
And enlist the help of angels
to tinsel
the inlets with stars.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The poem above contains five bolded words that contain only the same six letters. Combining new words from rearranging the letters of another word is making an anagram.
Vocal has had an anagrammatic poetry Challenge in the past. An anagrammatic poem is one where each line of the poem starts with the letter, in sequence, of a specific word or phrase.
(Side Note: The absolute BEST example of this type of writing is one that shows up on social media every now and then. Not a poem, but here's a link)
The Challenge
This is an unofficial challenge for Vocal writer/creators:
- Write a poem that includes at least one anagrammed word on each line.
- You can pick your own word.
- It can be any subject.
- Post it in the poetry Community.
- The poem should be cohesive and convey something (Not just a bunch of words)
If you are stumped, here's a tool that could be helpful. As I was researching to see if my anagram poetry already had a name (I didn't find it), I came across this: an anagram generator. It's free to use, and might give you some ideas. (Kinda wish I'd had it when I wrote mine, but I still got there.)
If you decide to participate please do the following:
1) add your poem to this piece as a comment.
2) add a link to this piece somewhere in your own post
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Comments always welcome. I can't wait to see what you write!

Looked like fun! I have two anagrams in one story. I hope that is okay. I have to go back and add your link now. https://vocal.media/poets/two-anagrams-in-one-short-poem
