Grandpa Took Me Fishing

Father's Day Memories

By Thomas DurbinPublished about a year ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read

Grandpa Took Me Fishing

He may not have been the biggest

Nor the wealthiest man around,

But he worked the land

And tilled the ground,

Sowed great seeds in my mind

not only in the field,

His words taught well

and knowledge he did yield,

Patience at the riverside

those lessons burned forever,

I'll never let my Grandpa go

and be forever wishing,

That one more time I could say

today, "Grandpa took me fishing."

Author note: The photo is one I made of model airplanes my Grandfather Durbin made from scratch materials. I still have them.
