Whores get the rings.
Good girls get the stings.
And the scrapes and the bruises…
Trying to love someone
Who uses their kindness for weakness.
A weapon for power and control.
An effort to consume their soul.
Just cut off the mole—
Don’t allow it to grow.
And take over how you see yourself…
It’s not worth it—
To lose yourself.
Definitely not over someone else…
You don’t need a ring to be validated
Or bring happiness into your life.
Just stay away from those
Who stand behind you with a knife.
Then have the audacity to ask
If you’re okay…
Why did it have to be this way?

This poem captures the painful contrast between the treatment of "whores" and "good girls" and the consequences of loving someone who exploits kindness. It emphasizes the importance of self-preservation and not allowing others to define one's worth. The raw emotions conveyed in the poem make it powerful and thought-provoking. Well done.
