A kiss on the palm of my hand
that slid down my arm, up past the bend,
into my soul and then some -
I knew it was the end for me.
The end of the wait for the one, the only;
I did not know that you had two
and no way for me to win.
Damn your ego and your eyes
that have laid me at your feet
Damn you for this half a love
Damn you for this hope of more
but more than that, damn me
for the way I fall too easy.
I hope you enjoyed this short and bitter love poem. If you've written one too, I'd love to read it, so please leave a comment. <3
