I’m not looking for romance anymore.
I will let it find me.
Sick of swiping left and right.
I haven’t expressed myself to someone in a long time especially through an app.
Texting is boring and makes me want to nap.
I sit and wait at the restaurant because I always arrive early enough to practice what I’m going to say.
I never actually say anything that I practiced but it does help to reduce my awkwardness.
My perfect guy hasn’t sat across from me just yet.
I’ve had plenty of good times with decent guys but never met someone who I want to do absolutely nothing with.
I’m 24 but my kind of fun isn’t so cool to some guys my age.
I want someone driven. Someone with passion for something they love to do.
I want to fall in love with the way he sees the world and how he treats the people in it.
I’m over the superficial attributes.
Flowers and chocolates are fine
But I’d be satisfied with having a man that I know is all mine.
Definitely someone who loves Christmas
and the way snow decorates the outdoors.
That’s my perfect guy.

Confessions of an Empath
The birds are chirping, and the sun is shining in a cloudless July sky. The vibrancy promises a beautiful day, but the cooing of the Mourning Dove perched on the powerlines seems to be more fitting than the lively songs of the robin flitting through the trees. The melancholic calls of the dove cloak the world in a sadness that hangs like tattered drapes.
