"Hate-Proof Heart"
Amara was conceived uniquely. Not in the manner a youngster with criss crossed eyes or a giggle that tinkled like breeze rings is unique. No, Amara was different in how a beacon is not the same as a gleaming candle - she focused with a relentless inward light, impenetrable to the haziness that whirled around her.

The Aftermath of the May 9 Elections
Note: This was written in June 4, 2022, and is only being published now. The evening of the May 9 National Elections brought everyone hoping for a change in our country two emotions: anxiousness and nervousness. Millions of voters in the Philippines lined up early in the morning to cast their votes for president, vice president, senators, and local authorities of their respective cities. For the majority youth, they picked VP Leni Robredo and Senator Kiko Pangilinan as their president and vice president respectively for the opposition, to counter the Uniteam tandem of the dictator’s son and namesake Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Mayor Inday Sara Duterte. THE PYGMALION EFFECT
The Pygmalion effect is a phenomenon whereby increased performance results from higher expectations. Higher expectations cause performance to rise, a phenomenon sometimes referred to as the Pygmalion effect—also called the Rosenthal effect. It is called for the Greek myth of Pygmalion, who, by his belief and expectation, brought a statue he had made to life. He fell in love with it. In the realm of psychology, the Pygmalion effect is the theory that states that if a person is expected to perform well, they are more likely to perform well; if they are expected to perform poorly, they are more likely to perform poorly. One can observe this impact in the workplace, sports, and education, among other places. The Pygmalion effect emphasizes the need for good expectations and their influence on personal performance and self-esteem.
