Santa's Resignation Letter
I have debated whether or not to begin with my trademarked “Ho Ho Ho”, but I wish to convey the gravity of the matter. Let me begin by assuring you that I have had nothing but good experiences, warm feelings, and a reassurance in the good of humanity for all one-thousand-years I've had the honour in being Santa Claus. Indeed, it has been a vocation to spread joy to children around the world. There have also been difficulties, though. Countries I once enjoyed visiting no longer exist. The struggle for my elves to keep up with expectations. And the Sisyphean effort in preparing for Christmas every year. But despite these hinderances, I have loved all of it. Which is why, with a heavy heart, I must announce my resignation. This is my notice.

Not Another Holimance! . Content Warning.
This story was written for the Vocal+Assist Facebook group. I woke up on Christmas morning to a home with no laughter or any sound that humans made at all. The only thing I heard was my old refrigerator making ice and the television in the living room that I forgot to cut off the night before; it was still on that boring ass Hallmark channel. I had entirely outgrown watching those repetitive, unoriginal “holimances” every damn year!

The Christmas Party
My date and I strolled into the Hilton at University Place, arm in arm, looking quite spectacular. Although the festive hotel lobby was buzzing with activity, with visitors and workers all going about their business, I couldn’t help but notice the admiring glances from passersby.

The Christmas Tree
I forgot just how big the stupid thing was - the old, faux tree stored away in my parents' garage. It took me forever to haul the damned thing from it's place in the loft, and even longer to prop it up into something that resembled a standing position. I'm sure if there'd been any onlookers they would've burst out laughing more than once as the plastic branches whacked me back and forth, refusing to come out of that beaten up old box.

A New Beginning: The Adventurous Trek
One day four friends Brady, Jack, Tom, and Henry went on a trek into a forest in Bulgaria. It was a fine day with bright sunshine and a cold chill breeze welcoming them. The trees cheered them by throwing newly blossomed flowers and colorful leaves at them. Brady is a nature lover and he enjoyed all the elements of nature in the ubiquitous green forest. He admired the group of insects collecting food for winter and frogs climbing the trees. He felt the cute chirping of birds to be so soothing like a lullaby. Admiring all these he left his friends and walked very long.
