Aftermath of the Siege

The fall of Tyre had far-reaching consequences. It demonstrated Alexander's military prowess and strategic genius, further solidifying his reputation as an unstoppable force. The capture of the city also had a psychological impact, spreading fear and awe among his enemies and bolstering the morale of his own troops.

In the aftermath of the siege, Alexander dealt harshly with the Tyrians as a warning to other cities that might consider resisting his rule. The city's population was largely massacred or sold into slavery, and Tyre itself was repopulated with Macedonian settlers. This ruthless approach was intended to deter future resistance and underscore Alexander's determination to conquer the Persian Empire.
