My Early Years of Self Publishing
I made my first venture into the land of self-publishing at around the age of eight. I can’t remember who taught me how to make a chapbook, but I believe it was my maternal grandmother. Write your story on individual pages, front and back. Illustrate, of course. Make sure the pages are clearly numbered. Punch holes in the margins and sew the pages together. Make a colorful cover and sew that on as well.

Paper Cuts
It was only a tiny paper cut. It almost killed me. Back in the early 2000s, I was working in a Children's Hospital as a surgery scheduler. This meant not only scheduling, but wrangling with insurance companies for authorization, dealing with doctors and parents, and lots of paperwork.

Crossroads of Depression
Like many people in this world, I suffer from periodic episodes of depression. Unlike many, my bouts with it haven't needed to be managed with medication; I have generally been able to talk myself out of it. But I can see how those who do need more help with management might read the following pep-talk and think, "Yeah, right; easy for you to say."
