Water ship of a sunken world
The media across the country was alarmed by the occurrence of a crashed ufo off the coast of California. There were swarms of people gathering at the scene wanting to witness what had happened. Inspector Dupin just so happened to be in the area. His steampunk style with his top hat and cane gave him a old fashioned gentleman look. His detective license was valid enough where he could step into a investigation wherever he chose. The fallen craft sat in the warm sun gleaming like a jewel. The outer texture of the craft was light blue and seemed to have a amphibious resemblance, as it breathed like a beached whale. There were a crew of workers using a welding tool attempting to open the hatch. Sparks of blue flames made him stand back. The worker who held the torch shut it off, removing his protective mask. It’s no use, I’ve been at it for over ten minutes. Not even a rip in it. I’ve never seen metal this strong. The tired worker exclaimed. Dupin stepped closer to inspect. Taking his cane that he had custom made with a diamond crown, he tapped the metal door. How it opened he wasn’t sure, as the hatch opened there stood a extraterrestrial entity. His body was gleaming white and amphibian in nature, like a combination of a carved sea monk fish with extra angelic lion fish like arms, A rare breed he hadn’t seen before. He quickly disappeared into the craft, where the inspector followed. He swirled over to a control panel that had a few dangling wires that needed repair. Fishing into his purse he found a roll of electrical tape that he patched the wires together with. There was a loud buzz, with the start of the engines, bright lights filled the chamber. The lion fish sat down on a large padded light blue chair, motioning the inspector to sit as well. He took the stirring wheel in his many arms, piloting the ship up into the air. Sitting in the soft seat, Dupin felt exasperated at the incredibly of it all. It really was a site to see, a Jules Vern of the sea. They were skimming the surface like a hovercraft, as waves washed over the shielded window. Trying to speak to the alien being flying the craft,he realized that he couldn’t understand his language. Taking notice that all around him were jars of ceramics that somehow didn’t break during the crash. They were flying a high speed, destination unknow. Suddenly the craft slowed down then submerged into the ocean like a submarine diving into the deep. There were sea life instead of clouds, a whole new ecosystem became a new world. Then, he saw the foundation of a building with many lighted windows, looking more like a sunken ocean liner. She was lit up under the sea, a hidden secret world to be explored. Docking inside and emerging into a dry interior, he stepped out as the hatch opened. There on the deck stood a uniformed being who was clearly part octopus. Walking up to him & speaking his language, he asked if he were a stole away. The magical lion fish who started the whole adventure spoke his dolphin like language to the official, explaining that the man had repaired the hovercraft allowing him to return to the underwater base. He stepped inside to examine the clay jars. He turned to speak to the abstract man who was now his responsibility. I’m sorry for the inconvenience, won’t you be our guest? The inspector stood a-gust breathing the reality in, tipping his top hat at his request. You’ve come a long way into a unknown realm, I am Captain of this underwater complex. He brushed his hand over his octopi beard. And what use are the ceramic jars in the craft ? Those are urns with ashes of the deceased, the pilot is a undersea grave keeper. We have a variety of different species living among us. Many get married, have children, and unfortunately some die. Since you are here, I am obliged to show you our world. I think I’ve seen your race somewhere before, only in the movies. The captain laughed in his webbed gold uniform. I am of the Pulpo race, coming from a hidden galaxy among the stars. The inspector thought he was indeed mysterious. He was led to a large room decorated with a chandelier & buffet table. Please help yourself, we have our own creations of sea lettuce, sea cucumber, shrimp, crab & lobster. The Inspector took a small plate to sample, thinking how close the captain was to the story of Captain Nemo. Sea rice, he explained was harvested on the ocean floor. He was pored a glass of sea tea, the sea glass made from old bottles. The women poring the tea looked like a exotic jellyfish that seemed to dance with her many limbs. Looking out the window he could see a complex of underwater rooms as the captain told of how they used holographic technology to create the complex, things he wasn’t capable of understanding. Of course you can’t go back. His words immobilizing the detective. You have seen too much! If I do say so Sir, I have a family to return to! The inspectors mind felt seasick as he thought of a past memory of being on the prisoner island when he had his fiancée slip him a key with a kiss. The artifacts he bought in a foreign country cost him ten years where he met on the island all kinds of people he normally wouldn’t meet. This time he was alone, no one knew of his existence beneath the fathoms of darkness where the sun never rises nor sets. The Captain noticed he was weakened with the situation and escorted him to a private room. Sleeping on a bed like a clamshell tucked away, until he woke up hungry to make a escape. Stepping out into a hallway he observed other pulpo creatures dressed in a uniformed attire, iridescent and appealing. He climbed up to a upper deck overlooking several hovercraft ships. Going below he climbed in one and sat at the controls. He found it not as difficult as he thought to start the engine. He submersed down into the bubbly sea, maneuvering it making his getaway. Heading to where the compass indicated land, emerging where he saw the coast, he ejected. Swimming to the shore, it looked more barren than what he knew. And then, he saw it.. A enormous dinosaur that was obviously back in time..
