99. Content Warning.
Dearest child, Today I learned about you and I thought my heart might just burst out of my chest. You come to us as a wonderful surprise. Your father and I weren’t expressly trying for you, but we also weren’t taking any precautions. When you read this letter, later in your life, I want you to understand that from the earliest moment we knew about you, you were desperately wanted.

Yours, Nick. Top Story - July 2023. Content Warning.
Watching as the unmarked drone flew away, anticipation made Spencer’s fingers tingle. He loved getting mail so much that he was one of the only people he knew who still regularly sent or received letters. Several of his friends happily engaged with him in this hobby, one even going so far as to get them matching fountain pens and traditional letter paper as a Christmas present the previous year.

The Story I Want to Write Some Day
Everyone I’ve ever met has a story they would love to write some day, a great and perfect piece of art that will take the world by storm and finally bring them the stability to live in a cabin by a lake in the mountains with a big friendly dog.

Wanderlust
Thin air burned in his lungs. For a moment, just a hint of a moment, he considered the wagon slowly trundling along behind him. But that was pointless, he would still only be able to travel at the pace of the slowest porter; and besides, it was better to spare the horses at these altitudes. Not for the first time, he looked around as a broad grin split his face. Mountains are never so glorious as when one is on foot between their massive shoulders.

Uncle Shu’s Window
The outside world was unknown to her, but she could see a glimpse of it through the window in his room. Just the barest glimpse of the world that should not exist, and she paid dearly for the privilege. More than others, less so than some, but nothing is free. Not in the utopia of the tunnels.
