Our trip from February 9-11, 2024, took us to the "Granary of the Philippines" and the "Garden of Luzon," allowing us to explore the beautiful spots and scenery in Pangasinan. We departed from Manila in the morning and checked into our booked accommodation by 2 pm.

We made the accommodation reservation through Airbnb. Our project manager selected the Velasquez Farmhouse, situated at 158 Barangay Macatiw Alaminos City, Pangasinan, Philippines, 2404 Seselangen.

I highly recommend this property as it offers a quiet and peaceful environment, with a hospitable host. The spacious, clean house is well-equipped and provides a true province vibe with live "het0," gardens, and plenty of fruit trees. Additionally, the stunning sunset over the wide rice fields at the back of the house was a truly memorable sight.
On February 10, 2024, during our visit to the Hundred Islands, we decided to use Bolo Beach as our gateway to the islands instead of Lucaf Wharf, which is located in Barangay Lucap. It is believed that Bolo Beach is a closer access point to the Hundred Islands compared to Lucaf Wharf. Additionally, Alaminos City is recognized as the main gateway to the Hundred Islands National Park.
Before embarking on our day trip to the islands, we took the time to visit the area and gathered information from the locals regarding tour packages, parking, and other relevant details. The next day, upon arriving at Bolo Beach around 5:00 am, we were greeted by a breathtaking sunrise and witnessed the local community diligently cleaning the beach.

Our group chose to rent a small boat for the tour, considering that we only had three people and a boat operator.

For the day tour, we paid 1600 pesos for the boat rental and an additional 200 pesos as an entrance fee, which was refundable if we didn't use the provided bag. Following the advice of the locals, we arrived at Bolo Beach at 5:00 am.

The journey to the Hundred Islands was quite challenging due to the large waves, but after approximately 12-15 minutes, we reached the first island, Governors Island, from Bolo Beach.

1. GOVERNOR'S ISLAND
During our visit, we explored the first island on our itinerary. This island features a cave and a convenient store where you can purchase food and drinks. We also hiked to the peak and admired the breathtaking view of Governor's Island and the adjacent islets. Although we were unable to try the zip line due to its specific operating hours, we made the most of our visit by deciding to explore other nearby islands. Our adventure continued as we crossed over to a small islet nearby.
