"Courage is knowing what not to fear."

- Plato

It has been two long years since the Covid 19 was introduced worldwide. I have been stuck in possibly the best place, Honolulu, Hawaii, to be in the shutdown from the beginning of the pandemic. Just as dramatic and unrealistic, as the scale of it was, I was stunned and in disbelief of the public reactions as well as that of the government, especially here in the US.

In the beginning, the news spreading like wildfire about the unknown virus, possibly leaked from the lab in China, made people uneasy and angry at Chinese people. As an empath and HSP, I could feel the tremendous fear of the mass. Since I stopped watching the news on TV a decade ago, I gathered my information from the WHO, British Medical Journal, and American one for this new virus. I have seen the news on Youtube occasionally, but I knew that anything I heard from anyone would be transferred and interpreted via the speaker's perception. Just as any of us have our own perceptions of things. The world in which we live has many truths. Something true to you, may not be true to me. We know that we don't hear much of the words that people utter, rather we communicate by observing and sensing the speakers' non-verbal messages.

The research has shown that only 7% of what we receive as a message is from the words spoken. The rest of 93% is the other non-verbal messages such as the speaker's mannerisms and emotions conveyed unintentionally. That is one of the reasons why I stopped getting information from the TV news along with the reason, which I am highly sensitive to the energy and vibrations of others. I could literally make myself sick sensing and experiencing other's unpleasant feelings & emotions around me including people on the news.

Still, I wanted to get to the truth of and about this virus. How dangerous is it for me and others? Is it treatable or deadly? What can I do? To have these questions to be answered, I had only focused on the raw data.

There was so much confusion, fear, anger, and desperation swirling around the mass, I felt safe being cooped up in a tiny studio of my space. After collecting and examining all the data, I felt much better about what was to come. Although the government thinks it is a state of emergency, I felt that this was not anything to be scared and fearful about. It was certainly not an emergency. With all the data I collected from other countries and here in the US, I concluded that the Covid-19 isn't going to wipe out the world population.

The fact that there was only a 1 to 2 percent of death rate, and over 98-99% of recovery rate told me that is not a deadly disease we cannot deal with. This was fairly consistent throughout the course of the pandemic. In addition, the data has clearly shown that the most vulnerable group was people over 60 and/or existing health issues or illnesses, particularly among the obese. It hardly affected children. This was in fact the common conclusion among the authorities in the world as well.

"Nothing in life is to be feared. It is only to be understood."

- Marie Curie

Yet the fear was stirred and tornado through the world via media. Major TV stations in the US bombarded days and nights with stories of hospitalized Covid patients and shined the spot on the tragic death of model citizens. Once the vaccine was developed and administrated, they had fiercely promoted it alongside the US government. Medical doctors and anyone who expressed their views of other than getting vaccinated is the best and only way to eliminate and protect ourselves from the virus, were censored and banned from the social media platforms.

I know this for sure because a few doctors who I have been following before the Covid-19, have been banned or asked to remove their posts due to misinformation. Some of them were simply saying that vaccination should be a personal choice in the end. None of the doctors I know of isn't saying the vaccine is unnecessary. They are educating their listeners and followers like me to proactively decide for the best for one's needs. They are providing the useful scientifically proven information they believe to have so that we, listeners and followers can make a sound decision for ourselves. None of us has the exact same body constitution, therefore, we react to the same vaccine differently. For that reason, we must be responsible for our choice of anything related to our health matters such as vaccination.

At this point, I believe that Covid-19 is taking its natural course no matter what we do. Considering the 60 - 90 percent vaccine rate in the many regions plus the development of natural immunity, it can be presumed that herd immunity in most counties against Covid-19 is at its maximum.

I have heard from many friends and relatives that had to go through the agony of being in a heartbreaking situation with members of their families and relatives about being vaccinated or not. When the vaccine mandates were introduced, many of us, including me lost our jobs for our choice. A lot of people felt no choice but to get jabbed to keep their jobs to support their families. I know the idea of mandates was brought out of Fear instead of Love.

I strongly believe that anything we create out of Fear does not work in the end. I have chosen to write about Covid at this time because I feel and sense that enough of us are now ready to move on. To face the Fear - This virus is not going to destroy us. We can co-exist with it as long as we take care of ourselves by making smarter decisions to improve our health and stay healthy - mentally, physically, and emotionally.
