Pride For My Dad

Poem

By The travelerPublished 4 days ago 1 min read

My dad, a hero, kept his true self unseen,

A secret locked away, a stifled dream.

His spirit, a warrior, for freedom he bled,

Yet his own life, a path he couldn't tread.

He bore burdens heavy, a weight I can't know,

While I wear my heart free, where the world can see it glow.

Unafraid and open, my colors I display,

Proud and bright, for who I am, each and every day.

I carry the torch, his spirit by my side,

Living loud and open, in the light, not to hide.

For the man in the shadows, his courage I claim,

So even in passing, he too can find his flame.

The fight for freedom, a battle I won't deny,

For those silenced voices, so they too can fly.
