Letting Go

doing the thing you want least, but know you must

By Savannah K. WilsonPublished about a month ago 1 min read
For your own sake ... let them go

Words you would never say, thoughts inside fearful to share

Last thing you think about when laying head down to sleep

The very first thing across your mind awakening to sun’s ray

Dreams for so long abandoned, and do not come to you

Yet now, you dream, now you enter a deeper rest thinking of them

Aware you shouldn’t pursue, the right thing to do is let them go

Someone else already has that which you wish so deeply was yours

To capture their passion, to find that kindred soul, hearts beating together

You see it all, holding hands on park strolls, hours flying past in deep talks

Just being able to know them better, know them more on a closer level

Heart screams for that chance, for what someone else has to be yours

Choice is already made, the pain is coming, you need to quit them

Their happiness is too important, know you have to let them go

Never this hard before to release someone from your heart’s gaze

Deep down you know it is right, you need to feel this pain now

So they do not need to feel it, not be hurt, so you let go … let them go

Letting go is so hard, but it can also be so rewarding. It’s important to remember that through the pain ♥️
