Letters and sentences
Tied to my tongue.
War relies on word’s mercy
For its armistice
I rely on words
To set my thoughts free.
The world is full of words
But sometimes I cannot find them.
Words escape my mouth
But do not know if I am saying
Anything at all.
I want to master the art of the word,
To know how to express
What my mind is saying
Without losing my intention
In unskilled translation.
I want to know words
How to escape their limits
When they bind me
How to utilize their power
When I need influence.
I am not a slave to the word,
The word will serve me.
