When I wake up
I spend a few seconds with the sun rays,
energy surges by way of the sun’s kiss.
I’d like to stop time just to delay
moving out of the light into the shadows of never-ending cycles,
“just another day.”
I let warm water droplets cleanse the debris of yester…moment.
Steam creates a hazy fog
blocking my way back to the sun.
But, I know,
I know it’s there just outside my grasp.
Buildings.
Noise.
They all carry me far away from the golden glow.
Still, at night
after serenading the moon
I prepare myself to be met in my dreams by the sun.
Sun-kissed in the morning.
