(because i don’t)

want me

they call me things

like pretty

but my reflection

has never been mine

i live in a body

that does not belong to me.

i inhabit skin

i loathe so much

i want to tear it off me.

so what

if you like looking at it.

i have never felt pretty.

and as many times

as i hear it

the more i hate the lie.

the voices in my head

are much louder.

as long as I do not want me

you will need to want me

for me

and the hole inside of me

will never be whole.

you want my skin?

take it.

heartbreak
