Waffle House Guy

We sat in the waffle house,

I didn't face you,

I played off the energy in the room,

Scattered my nervous energy through sarcastic tones,

Hiding your subtle internal reservations,

With quips about powder sugar,

I was intrigued by you soft spoken tone,

You embodied calmness within the chaos of the diner

I shined by being incandescently myself,

but being reserved with my interactions,

you were cute,

but unknown,

with an unclear cut of if there was chemistry,

two waffles,

one dink and sink,

two gregarious servers,

We sat in the waffle house,

Unknown of what was in store,

unknown to anything more.
