Virginia Beach Shooting

Long lost lives

By Rowan Finley Published 5 years ago 1 min read

Twelve lives were stolen...

"This is the most devastating day in the history of Virginia Beach," said the mayor. Indeed it was, for these innocent workers who had spent their time as civil workers.

Public vigil is but a tiny pittance, like smallest hint of incense, for the lives that were cut far too short. Families devastated and confused...

"Why did this have to happen to my wife?"

"Why did this have to happen to my husband?"

"Why did this have to happen to my brother?"

"Why did this have to happen to my sister?"

"Why did this have to happen to my mommy?"

"Why did this have to happen to my daddy?"

"Why... why... why..." their voices scream into silent pillows who have no answers to the deadliest of questions that haunt and pick at souls for years and years to come.
