Ukraine: NATO Membership Uncertain

Promises are made, but no firm dates

As NATO plays it safe, expansion waits

Beyond the speeches, nothing is solid

Cold calculations, realpolitik is followed

Peace and security are just noble fronts

Hiding ruthless power stunts

Sown in treaties ready to break

Should trouble arise, make no mistake

And so Ukraine fights, land soaked in blood

Sacrificed for the Western flood

A battlefield for others, Russia impales

American interests tip the scales

Yet victory for Ukraine, however it's seen

Is not the prize it would have been

For NATO’s door will stay closed

This war’s gains are all it's posed

Putin has been pushed too far

To let a breach without a bar

His nuclear weapons stand tall

The world would fall into hell's hall

So Ukraine will stay in the middle

A buffer state, fate a riddle

Rebuilt, rearmed, but status quo

NATO defense it will not know

For the alliance doesn't care for agreements

Only dominance, gains from achievements

Power is its guiding star

Everything else is secondary, near and far
