To cherry blossoms in Ueno Park's pride.
Skyscrapers soar, a futuristic sight,
As ancient temples breathe with quiet might.
Harajuku's fashion, bold and bright,
Anime dreams take flight at night.
Sushi bars and izakayas hum,
With laughter, sake, and gentle strum.
In every corner, a tale unfolds,
In Tokyo's heartbeat, stories untold.
From Ginza's elegance to Asakusa's shrine,
A city of contrasts, where spirits align.
In Tokyo's pulse, both past and new,
A world in one city, a dream come true.

Dialogue Poetry Challenge Winners
Hannah Moore is a first-time grand prize winner with her dialogue poem, On Receipt of Bad News. This was a poem that genuinely engaged both with the exchange of our prompt, but also focussed on the way poetic rhythms of language could support the writer's conceit. It felt very truthful, too, the way one speaker wishes to ignore the news and focus on practicalities; there was a quiet heartbreak, here. Well done.
