Thrive

A poem

By Josey PickeringPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

I will rock my bones

to the symphony in my soul

against the walls you build around me.

Line up the words

you throw at me

like train cars

and send them flying off the tracks.

I will come alive in the dark,

thrive in the night

As you wither in the sun

and society dictates your nine to five.

As you slip into sheeps clothing,

I peel off more layers.

I am exposed, raw, real

as you cake on more costumes

to hide your reality.

(Sometimes it’s succeeding that truly is the best karma against our enemies, so rise about whatever they throw at you - Josey)
