theo’s song

poem/lyrics by zoe frenchman

By zoe frenchmanPublished about a year ago 1 min read

Just a month before

I graduated,

He walked through the door,

And I was elated

Stuck in a locked box,

His love can stop clocks,

His ardor is clear,

And his armor is sheer

I wish I had met Theo

Before the walls crashed down

He bestowed the steady flow

Of hope that would soon surround

Theo

Would go

anywhere

Without a care

To make me

Feel happy

Struck deep in my core,

Love was located

He chose to ignore

The doubt I’d created

His pleasant praise blocks

My self-imposed mocks,

He dries out my tears,

And he calls out my fears

I wish I had met Theo

Before the walls crashed down

He bestowed the steady flow

Of hope that would soon surround

Theo

Would know

Any glare

Of my despair,

I’m lucky

I’m happy

I didn’t know my hero

could be a man named Theo

Markie to my Cleo

He sparks my libido

I wasn’t just a conquest

I wasn’t just a contest

My madness has been a test

He’s passed it without a rest

I wish I had met Theo

Before the walls crashed down

He bestowed the steady flow

Of hope that would soon surround

Theo

Would go

anywhere

Without a care

To make me

Feel happy

I wish I had met Theo

Before the walls crashed down

He bestowed the steady flow

Of hope that would soon surround

Theo

Would know

Any glare

Of my despair,

I’m lucky

I’m happy.
