The US Might Not Save NATO from Russia

Why the US is Not a Reliable Ally for NATO

The winds of conflict are stirring, my friends

As Putin makes his forceful changes

He's looking at NATO's eastern side

Hoping to grow Russia's pride

But will the US answer the call?

Or let allies struggle and fall?

For Trump doesn't care for old agreements

His "America First" plans are evident

The North Atlantic Treaty might require

Help against threats that transpire

But selfish politics might rule the day

As in the US, support could decay

NATO, built on historical ties

Now faces a serious trial

Unity is wearing thin in the fight

Can its foundations remain upright?

The poles strengthen and store weapons

Preparing for the Russian legions

Who march united toward the gap

The only hope now is Article Five's clap

Yet across the sea, an unreliable ally

On whom the alliance relies

To halt the wave of violent growth

And prevent a premature global grave.
