Deadliest Jobs of WWII.

Bomber crews faced danger in their flight,

Chances of survival were a coin's flip in fight.

Gunners in ball turrets fired with all their might,

Easy targets for snipers, in their pods of slight.

Merchant sailors carried goods across the sea,

Braving perilous journeys for the Allies' decree.

Ships carrying cargo were sunk steadily,

High numbers of casualties, a grim reality.

Soviet penal troops walked through fields of doom,

Convicts with no chance of life, only gloom.

Cable dogs crawled with lines of communication,

Snipers targeted soldiers without hesitation.

Submarine crews in steel coffins confined,

Praying they won't face a torpedo's grind.

Some men raced torpedoes they designed,

Their fate sealed by their own kind.

Kamikaze pilots dove in planes on fire,

Crashing honorably was their sole desire.

Disposing of bodies, a task so dire,

They came with shovels, situation so mire.

Tanks with flamethrowers made men walking bombs,

Close-quarters combat brought screams and qualms.

Dangerous jobs filled graves in combs,

World War Two's horror still alarms.
