The Top is Quiet Not Lonely

I have zero complaints.

Sometimes I’m grumpy

And hard to be around.

A terrible friend that never texts back

Or attend your parties.

I’m not a social butterfly…

And I don’t pretend to be.

It’s not that I don’t have love for old friends.

There’s just places I wanna go

That not everyone can.

I won’t trade the truth for comfortability.

Speak your mind is what they tell me…

Until my words don’t

align with their agenda.

I’m ok with being the villain in stories told

By those who live life through gossip.

Unable to live the life they dream,

So instead they talk…

Telling me what they would

do if they were me.

The truth is hard to swallow…

You are where you are because

You didn’t lead. You followed.

So call me mean and bitchy.

I don’t mind.

I’m heading to victory.

Don’t get left behind being

Lead by the blind.

Wow, so I saw the title and remembered Naomi's “Lonely at the Top,” and I love the juxtaposition here
