The Powerlessness of Spectating Grief.

Across the ocean

By TestPublished 11 months ago Updated 11 months ago 1 min read

If I could take your pain.

-Snatch-

the glass shards of it from your.

heart

And stab them into mine.

I would.

But

- words are futile.

They will not soothe.

The open sore of your soul.

A helpless bystander

Of grief.

My tears –

Will not erase

Yours.

There is an ocean between us,

But I cannot swim.

Pinned to the shoreline.

Like a dead butterfly

Trapped in a case.

Looking through glass.

you

are not waving.

And I watch as you

drown.
