The Joker Within Us

In this world so cruel and unkind,
There's a joker within us, hard to find.
We all put on a mask each day,
To hide the hurt that won't go away.

We smile and laugh to keep up the act,
But inside we're hurting, that's a fact.
We suffer alone in our own thoughts,
And cry ourselves to sleep in the dark.

The world can be a lonely place,
And we all struggle to keep up the pace.
We pretend everything's alright,
But it's just a facade, a clever disguise.

We've all faced hardships, and we've all been hurt,
But we keep our feelings hidden, buried in the dirt.
We don't want to burden others with our pain,
So we wear a smile, and act like everything's sane.

But the truth is, we all have a joker within,
And sometimes it's hard to keep the smile from wearing thin.
We all need someone to lean on, to share the load,
To help us carry the weight of life's heavy load.

So let's be kind to each other, and lend a helping hand,
To the joker within us, who's trying to withstand.
Let's acknowledge the pain, and help each other heal,
So we can all wear a genuine smile, and truly feel.
