The Eyes are Mightier Than the Mouth
There is much
Behind my eyes
Thoughts thought
Dreams dreamt
Life lived
But made to
Close my mouth
Stuff it, shut it
Society says
So silence, girl
Padlock placed
On my lips
Pages torn
From my journal
Spotted with ink
My mascara messy
Go clean it up
As to be seen
And not heard
A pretty face
Is all that’s needed
No one needs
Your mind
These outbursts
Will be outcast
Be happy as
Second-class
And second choice
Thus, you learn to say
So much in a look
And my eyes
Are screaming
