A melancholy that won’t go away

Hints of red highlights in dark shades of grey

Whispering words that we refuse to say

Regrets for one’s that have gotten away

Big shoes to fill

Left with broken hearts

I’ve lost the will

Tired of playing this part

Too much time left to kill

When love is an art

And I don’t have the skill

I’ve let it dig in too far

Amateur doodles on paper

A masterpiece in my mind

An ill gotten caper

When you’re cruel to be kind

I never believed in miracles

Now maybe, it’s too late to try

this is the line: When you’re cruel to be kind - bye bye, cruel to be kind. Nope, can't go there with you - cruel to be kind. Great job, Kelli.
