Take The Fork

a poem

take the fork

ATTENTION if you please

especially the blondies

One twitterpated day

honeysuckle mist twirls across your forehead

On Repeat: every rosy word he ever said

Hands intwine above your heads

noses press, peppermint breaths

You open your book

he knows it by heart

You fill his pockets with your stories

he fills your heart with fireflies

all tender Sugar Fire Sweetness easy peasy

One pivotal day

A fork in the road

Mask drops, thorns carved across his forehead

blindsighted in a Stew of booze

bravado

expectations

explosion of ugly: Rated R

take the fork

I’d rather sleep than see you.

take the fork

Don’t you ever listen?

take the fork

patronized you to a pulp

take the fork

Shut your fuckin piehole bitch!

take the fork

You are the bees knees

You are fire

You are brilliant

You are a muse

You are a pageturner

You are your own fork

& I am in your corner

always

heartbreak
