‘When you wake up in the morning, Pooh,’ said Piglet at last, ‘what's the first thing you say to yourself?’ ‘What's for breakfast?’ said Pooh.

Fried bread with butter easy spread
Hash browns, more golden than hashed or browned
Eggs sunny side up, cheerful and vivid like the sun
With out the hydrogen or helium
All heated in the microwave- setting reading medium
Tasting like a morning bleeding into afternoon
With food like that you know you’d better eat it soon
It may not have the spices of Morocco, Marrakech
But it sure as hell does taste like home, and I’d bet you that it’s fresh.

I had my first taste of the good old fashioned English breakfast when I was on vacation. The first time I asked for fried toast my Spanish grandma balked. I never looked back and the calorific horror of fried toast began to smell like home. No regrets.
