What is it

About this place

About this town

About this time

That I'm both suffocating

And free

How can the two

Coexist

Live in serenity

Together

How am I

Burning out

While the wind chill

Floats in

What a

Cruel

And unusual

Punishment

For caring.

I absolutely loved this. That I’m both suffocating and free really stuck with me

  • This always happens when we care. But sadly, I don't know how to not care. Loved your poem!
