Bright Blue

A poem.

Bright Blue

To be carried

In my arms

For three decades

Tattered and torn

and turning grey.

To have been loved

By a baby,

A teen,

and now adult,

Barely missing

A single day.

How I long for

The innocence

of when you were

Bright blue.

This is wonderfully sweet and wistful. Wonderful work. I love the decision to let the reader understand what the subject is.

  • Oh the nostalgia. Melancholic and very beautifully written!

This is lovely, the nostalgia and the emotional texture that can be felt throughout this. What a great piece, woven with baby blanket tenderness.
