Still Counting

Precious Years

By Rowan Finley Published 5 years ago 1 min read

I can hear your heart beat,

as we lay here together on loveseat.

I didn't think that God made people like you,

but the test of time has proven true.

Your lips are like rose petals;

when I look at you, I feel my heart settle.

Fears and worries subside,

in you I will always confide.

Thirty years of marriage and our love is still strong;

when we married young they tried to tell us we

were wrong.

But, we couldn't have been more right,

together we found the light.

Serving side by side,

through life's troublesome tide.

Adventures explored,

one another adored.
