Sketching Stillness
sketching imaginative scenes...

Lost my way, I ran, seeking solace in the quiet,
To stillness found in sketching, my mind's riot.
From torn pages of magazines, photos I'd glean,
Landscape memories, still trees, leaves unseen.
Calm waters, mountain tops, valleys below,
Sketching stillness, my mind's ceaseless flow.
Low on drive, expression, esteem's dearth,
Pencil glides, sketching scenes of imagined worth.
Captured serenity, settling my mind's unrest,
Placing me within calmness, a tranquil quest.
Clarity dawns, sobriety's gentle touch,
Provoking stillness, an expressive clutch.
Departure from thoughts unstill and race,
Pen to paper, a simple embrace.
Through sketching away my lostness so vast,
I find my way back to where I'm meant to last.
