Siren's Calling

You sing to my heart. You break it in two.

By Amanda FernandesPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

Did I have a goal? A place to sail to?

I don’t see my boat or waters ahead.

I do see your eyes, their bright, bloody hue.

What was it they said of eyes that were red?

Did I have a wife? Do I have a crew?

You stare at my flesh with such love and greed.

You sing to my heart. You break it in two.

You’re making me cry! You make my ears bleed!

Did I have a life? Did I walk on land?

I’ll braid the seaweed with shells in your hair.

I’ll count the scars on your skeletal hand.

I’ll sink in your arms and end up nowhere.

I’ll kill all my folk! Just ask me to stay!

Kiss me ‘til I choke! Steal my breath away!
